Fad Diets

Fad Diets

Vinegar and cigarettes seem like the least appetizing things to flood your body with, but those are just some of the stupid fads people jumped on board with in an effort to lose weight. Here are a couple other examples what some of us have done to ourselves in the name of fad dieting. We don't endorse or suggest ANY of these.
  •
The Lemon Detox Diet: This diet involves replacing food with a lemon juice and maple syrup mixture. Yuck!

The Liquid Diet: This diet actually dates back to 1087. Historians credit William the Conqueror as the inventor of the liquid diet. Legend has it that the English king became too fat to ride his horse, so he went on an all-liquid diet. The only problem was that his liquid of choice was booze. He died a year later.

The Cabbage Soup Diet: We don't even like the smell of cabbage. Could you just imagine eating it every day, all the time?

Cookie Diet: Born in 1975, one Miami doc would have his patient eat 6 amino acid-packed cookies a day (with a sensible dinner) to help the weight come off. (We like this one the best)

The Cigarette Diet: Believe it or not, back in the Roaring '20s cigarette manufacturers promoted the weight-loss benefits of smoking.

The Sleeping Beauty Diet: This was popular in the 1960s and basically just involved popping a few sleeping pills before dinner so you would be too tired to eat.

The Cotton Ball Diet: As the millenium turned, so did our intelligence, as people started eating cotton balls to keep them full! Ew! These are for your bathroom, not your dinner plate!
