Average Cost of a Wedding

Average cost of cake, ring, dress, etc...

  •
I have three friends who are getting married in the next year and they are ALL stressing over the cost, so I thought I would check out what the average wedding would set ya back. Hold on...TheKnot.com and WeddingChannel.com surveyed 17,500 brides who got married last year and came up with some sobering numbers. Listen up, brides and grooms-to-be: The average cost of a Wedding cake: $560 Photo Credit: Getty Images

Rehearsal dinner $1,135 I always think the rehearsal dinners are the most fun. Worth it? Probably so. Photo Credit: Getty Images
  •
Catering (price per person) $63 I don't want to scare you, but from what I'm hearing this is a LOW average. Photo Credit: Getty Images

Limousine $708 Or...have a friend with a cool car? Done. Zero dollars. Photo Credit: Getty Images
  •
Invitations $453 You gotta let people know they are invited but you can save money by not doing "save the dates" or anything grandiose. Photo Credit: Getty Images

Groom's tuxedo $230 Well, your man may not be Orlando Bloom, but every man looks great in a tux. He is totally worth it! Photo Credit: Getty Images

Wedding/event planner $1,847 (This seems high to me...I would think more in the 5-600 dollar range). Could be well worth the money...someone needs to tell this guy where to put those flowers! Photo Credit: Getty Images

Reception DJ $988 (I say spend the money if you want a fantastic reception. This guy/girl is in control. If you go cheap you may end up with a drunk dj at the end of the night that bumps and grinds all over your guests AND plays the electric slide every other song. It ain't worth it) Photo Credit: Getty Images
  •
Florist/decor: $1,997 (again, I think this is an area you can totally play with! Not everything has to have a flower attached...sometimes less is more, right?) Photo Credit: Getty Images
  •
Photographer: $2,379 (I think this can be as cheap or expensive as you need. Enlist friends to take pics during the reception for sure and save a bundle!) Photo Credit: Getty Images
  •
Venue (reception hall): $12,905 (I'm SOOOO hoping this includes food but based on what I'm hearing in the halls, maybe not.) Photo Credit: Getty Images

Wedding dress: $1,211 (unless you could talk Monty into something a bit cheaper). Photo Credit: Getty Images
